COMMENTING ON AUSTRALIAN MEDIA - TV, RADIO, PRINT, WEB, FILM
The Northern Territory News and 'quality journalism' don't go hand in hand! I'm impressed that they used full sentences.
ReplyDeleteI just love that the editors of news.com.au saw it and thought "Oh yeah! We'll print that! The rest of Australia needs to hear about that!"
ReplyDeleteIt's insane.
There's another story about a sheep giving birth to a 'human-like creature' that's been a hot favourite on news.com.au the last few days - the very same story broke MONTHS ago internationally except it was a goat instead of a sheep - but news.com.au weren't on to it because it didn't become a meme (due to lack of visuals one assumes).
Journos are getting paid less to come up with several stories a day - and research, source, edit and post them online themselves - is it any wonder they're just grabbing whatever crap they can find?
Twitter trends are probably the only thing keeping some News Limited writers employed.
